Grant Award for the Good Company Club Program in Pine Hill

The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation has awarded a grant of $12,000 to the St. John/St. Francis de Sales parish community to expand a highly successful GOOD COMPANY CLUB currently hosted by the Phoenicia Methodist Church on Mondays to a second day (Thursdays) and second site at the Pine Hill Community Center.

This 5 hour structured program, which will begin in Pine Hill on July 9, is designed to provide a safe space and stimulating activities for seniors experiencing cognitive decline, while their caregivers get some respite time.

As a partner in the grant process, Catskill Neighbors, Inc. will recruit both participants and volunteers. Because more and more people know a friend, neighbor, or family member with this disease, we invite the entire community to participate in a 3-part course that will build knowledge, bust myths, and identify local resources that can help these seniors overcome isolation and stay connected to the life of our community.
